Coach Jankech refused to take any action against the ace striker

Male', MALDIVES -
National team coach Jozef Jankech refused to take any action against striker Ali Ashfaag (Dhagadey) for playing in the Club Maldives Futsal Tournament (CMFT), just two days after he was substituted in the game against Lebanon in Beirut.
The Slovakian, who met Ashfaag yesterday regarding the matter, today said the clubs spend a lot on their players and national team don’t want to be in a situation to take action against the players in a matter which their respective club refused to take.

“They belong to certain clubs and when the club didn’t file any complaint, national team doesn’t want to take any action” Jankech said.

Jankech further added that it’s easy to replace a player in the national team but admitted Ashfaag is a skilled player and said no one wants to see him to get punished.

“I brought him to FAM and talked to him for an hour. He didn’t say anything; he is a very skilled player and no one wants national team to play without him”

“Even Oppo played in Club Maldives tournament; I don’t understand why everyone talks about Ashfaag”

Meanwhile, VB sports CEO Gahthaan Haleem said they didn’t encourage players to do such a thing in their letter sent to FAM yesterday. He said as soon as a problem like this unveiled it would be very easy to solve by talking to the club.

“We didn’t encourage on that. But when the player was injured during national team duty, problems like this will not go this far if they (FAM) contacted the club and talked about it”

“They still didn’t talk the club about this; they said if Dhagadey suffered a serious injury they will inform the club, so we believe Dhagadey don’t have a serious injury” Gahthaan added.
Ashfaag was even played against Health Ministry last night in the second round match and scored five goals in their 6-1 win to take MPA into the quarter final.
